The Serie A clash between AS Roma and Udinese on Sunday had to be stopped and then abandoned after Ndicka collapsed on the ground. The Ivory Coast international initially received treatment on the pitch before being stretchered off the ground and taken to a hospital.

Now the Italian club have come up with an update on the player's health condition as they revealed that the 24-year-old has been released from the hospital. At the time of his admission to the hospital, he had suffered from acute precordial pain and had non-specific changes in the electrocardiogram carried out on him. The latest check-up, however, revealed that his condition has significantly improved.

WHAT AS ROMA SAID

The official statement from the club read, "Following acute precordial pain and non-specific changes on the electrocardiogram carried out in the first emergency room at the stadium, player Evan Ndicka was admitted to the Santa Maria della Misericordia Hospital in Udine. First and second-level cardiological checks were carried out and were negative for cardiac pathology. In light of the latest tests carried out in the morning, the clinical picture is compatible with chest trauma with minimal left pneumothorax. The player has been discharged and will carry out further checks in Rome.

The match against Udinese has to be played on a different date from the same point at which it was stopped and the same players must be present on the pitch, according to Serie A rules. They will be next seen in action on Thursday as they take AC Milan in the Europa League.
